Weather/Climate

Planning for autumn weather in the Front Range of the Rockies can be tricky. Typically, the weather is warm and sunny during the day (the average high temperature on Sept. 30 in Boulder is 72 degrees) and then slightly chilly at night (the average low temperature on Sept. 30 in Boulder is 45 degrees). However, extremes are always possible; the mid -to-high 80's are entirely possible at that time of the year, as is receiving significant snowfall.

You can check weather sites, such as weather.com, to get an extended forecast when planning your trip. Local sites include 9news and The Denver Channel.

Also, be aware of the fact that the Boulder/Louisville has an elevation of over one mile above sea level and it only increases if you head into the mountains.  You should notice that each breath at 5300 feet contains less oxygen than those taken near sea level. If you plan on exercising or heading to the mountains, be sure to hydrate yourself by drinking plenty of water to fight off the effects of altitude sickness.
